In 1999 we staged six rounds within an eleven-week period. The reason for this timeframe was due to a late start in the season. Lessons learnt from the 99 Series have been invaluable in preparing this year. Representative lap times achieved during the 99 Series were: Oran Park (South) 50.80 Oran Park (Grand Prix) 1:20:92 Calder Park 1:08:22 Wakefield Park 1:13:27 Winton 1:09:36 Bathurst 2:41:57 I am delighted to advise that the 2000 Mirage Series first round has been included in the prestigious Clipsal 500 Adelaide 6-9th April. We have been allocated three races within the event one on each of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 2000 Series will be conducted over 8 rounds, Round 1 9th April Adelaide Round 2 28th May Oran Park (G.P Circuit) Round 3 9th July Oran Park (South Circuit) Round 4 16th July Winton Round 5 27th August Winton Round 6 22nd October Bathurst Round 7 12th November Mallala Additional round T.B.A The Series this year will support two V8 SUPERCAR events, Traditional Bathurst and TOCA events. These events will receive extensive exposure to print and television coverage. Actual times will be confirmed once programming is finalised. The cost of the race car fully prepared is $22,000.00. Please Note: A leasing package is available to approved applicants on request. The cost for administration of the 2000 Series, staged over 8 rounds, is $23500.00. G.S.T. has been factored into the budget for rounds after 01 July. Approved Safety Fuel Cell Transport Vehicles will be freighted to and from each racing venue Ownership · Competitor retains ownership of the 1.6 litre Mirage race car About The Series · Supporting major national championship events · Each Mirage will comply with CAMS Ltd. racing standards and requirements · All cars will race under Mirage Series regulations · Each car will conform to the strictest safety standards and will be professionally maintained, serviced and transported. · Drivers are simply required to arrive at the circuit for practice, qualifying and racing · Drivers will vie for total prize money of $36,400.00 over the 8 rounds · The Series receives extensive media and public exposure and thus presents an outstanding opportunity to gain corporate sponsorship. Maintenance & Service All cars in the Mirage Series will be fully maintained and serviced by Sutherland Mitsubishi (SM) at 519 Princes Highway Kirrawee 2232 or Ralliart Australia (RA) at Unit 1c, 128 Frances Street, Lidcombe 2141. SM/RA technicians will prepare the vehicles in compliance with strict safety standards. All cars will be examined and serviced according to the owners’ requirements and at the owners’ cost prior to each round. SM/RA will provide a maintenance team for each round of the Series whose duties will include: · Dispatch of cars to race meetings · Receive cars at each track · Sign cars out to owners · Inspection of cars before and after each session as required · Return of cars to Sutherland Mitsubishi · Itemise and report damage and repairs to be authorised by the competitor Note: Mitsubishi Motors parts will be supplied at trade price Ralliart Australia parts will be supplied at competitor price Sutherland Mitsubishi will process all accounts.
